Peking University, April 24, 2020: On April 4, medical experts from the Peking University Sixth Hospital (PKUSH) shared anti-pandemic experience in psychological intervention at a Sino-Australian video conference. The conference was attended by 18 experts respectively from PKUSH, Center for Posttraumatic Mental Health of Australia, the University of Melbourne, and Northwestern Mental Health Center.
During the COVID-19 outbreak, China has been attaching great importance to mental health issues and offered timely and extensive mental health services across the nation, said PKUSH President Lu Lin. Guidelines and instructions have been issued to promote psychological intervention, online mental health consultations have been offered, and intervention experts have been sent to Wuhan to provide on-site services. He hoped Australia and other countries could benefit from China’s experience.
Since the COVID-19 outbreak, PKUSH has been devoting itself to improving mental wellbeing for individuals who experience pandemic trauma. Meanwhile, it will continue to introduce China’s experience with the international community in the hope to win the fight against the pandemic.
