Peking University, Apr. 22, 2013: Former PKU President Zhou Qifeng attended the 2013 Annual Meeting of the International Alliance of Research Universities (IARU) in Singapore with a PKU delegation from April 6th to 10th. , also visited Nanyang Technological University on April 9th.

IARU involves the ten top research universities across Asia, Europe, and America, whose heads meet annually at a hosting university to discuss development and cooperation, as well as promoting regional and international higher education exchange. 
 

This year’s IARU meeting was organized by the National University of Singapore. At the meeting, President Zhou Qifeng introduced the latest development of Peking University and higher education in China to the participants. Professor Chen Dongmin, director of the department of Science and Technology Development, gave a summary report of the IARU Collaborative Technology Transfer Seminar organized by PKU; Xia Hongwei, Minister of International Cooperation department, gave a progressing report of the "Interdisciplinary project Forum "and" Scientific research management seminar” to be held in Peking University.

On the afternoon of April 9th, PKU delegation paid a visit to the Nanyang Technological University and was warmly welcomed by the NTU President Bertil Andersson. Zhou recalled the 2011 visiting of Bertil Andersson to PKU and Bertil Andersso introduced to him the latest progress of education and scientific research in NTU. Both sides also discussed in more cooperation areas.

The delegation also visited Nanyang Technopreneurship Center, where they learned more about the school’s innovation and entrepreneurial projects for undergraduate and graduate students. The two sides planned to organize the “First Zhongguancun Technology Entrepreneurship Forum” and innovation training projects in the near future.
