Peking University, May 20, 2020: As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic has waned in China, many provinces in low-risk areas have partly resumed on-campus schooling with caution. According to the decision of COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control headquarters in Guangdong province, students from all levels and types of schools in Guangdong Province started returning to campus by batches from April 27.
Measures such as air purifier and instant hand sanitizer to ensure a virus-free PHBS Building
Peking University HSBC Business School (PHBS) welcomed back around 300 MA graduating students on May 14-15. Few days earlier, 10 graduating students from Hubei province and Heilongjiang province returned to the campus, and are undergoing 14-day quarantine. School leadership and staff have been working around the clock to ensure smooth daily operation and a virus-free campus. Faculty and staff have taken nucleic acid tests before resuming work to lower the risk of infection, and all have tested negative, with no such symptoms as fever and cough.

To avoid possible risk of the virus spreading, social distancing measures are being strictly enforced. Students queued up for body temperature checks with a one-meter distance between them before entering the campus. They were also asked to scan a QR code at the checkpoint with a mini-app embedded in WeChat, producing a one-time color code pass.

Students and teachers will be required to wear masks and keep safe distances in class. If a student's temperature is found abnormal, he or she will be taken to doctors in an isolation area. Detections of raised body temperatures and suspicious symptoms will be reported to health authorities immediately.

PHBS also distributed health kits consisting of face masks, disinfection supplies and epidemic prevention manuals to students on campus. In addition to monitoring students' health conditions, the school will pay close attention to their psychological condition, as many of them are facing the pressure of graduation and job hunting in such a difficult time.
