Peking University, Apr. 10, 2013: As part of the plan to become a world-class university, PKU further increases its effort to strengthen ties with the world’s best scholars. Launched in last June, PKU Global Fellowship is one of the important measures in this regard.
Professor Bruce Alan Beutler, 2011 Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine became a new participant of the fellowship and was conferred Honorary Professor of PKU on April 8.
PKU Council Chairman Zhu Shanlu welcomed Doctor Beutler and spoke highly of his academic achievements and invaluable assistance to the development of immunology in China.
"As Peking University’s 115th anniversary is coming, we hope to enhance the communication with top scholars," said Zhu, "their participation will contribute much to PKU’s talent cultivation." Zhu offered to facilitate teaching and research for Doctor Beutler at PKU and invited him to attend this year’s Beijing Forum.
