Hao introduced the university’s reform and development in terms of teaching and scientific research, and offered suggestions on province-university cooperation. He noted that Shandong Province has long been supporting the development of PKU. Therefore, he hoped to see the cooperative tradition continue to last. At the same time, Shandong Province is able to tap into the medical strength of PKU to accelerate healthcare cooperation. Also, the two sides can expect more intellectual exchanges by encouraging more PKU graduates, teachers and researchers to work in Shandong Province.
Liu appreciated PKU’s active involvement in bettering Shandong’s economy. Education and talents are urgently crucial to the province’s development. Therefore, Liu hopes that Peking University can give full play to the advantages of the university’s educational, scientific and technological talents. This will support more cutting-edge scientific and technological achievements and major scientific research platforms to settle in Shandong, strengthen cooperation between the two sides in the fields of health care, marine strategy, civil-military integration and cultural tourism, promote the development of PKU as a “Double First-Rate” university, and increase the exchanges between researchers of both sides.
