Ji Jiafu wins the first China-Philippines Asia International Peace Prize

Peking University, April 9, 2019: Recently, Ji Jiafu, president of Peking University Cancer Hospital, won the first China-Philippines Asia International Peace Prize at the awarding ceremony held in Manila, Philippines.


At the awarding ceremony

Established in Manila, Philippines, the China-Philippines Asia International Peace Prize, aiming at recognizing peacemakers who have made outstanding contributions in various fields, covers 10 fields, including education, environment, health care, medicine and public services. Nine outstanding people from China, the United States, the Philippines, Sweden, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Iran and other countries won the first China-Philippines Asia International Peace Prize.

As the only Chinese winner, Ji Jiafu was highly praised by the jury for his outstanding contributions in the field of medicine. The jury stressed that these outstanding achievements should not be confined to China, but they should transcend national boundaries, benefit Asia and the international community as well, and become a model of medical peace.

During the meeting, President Ji Jiafu also participated in the 5th China Asia-Pacific Medical Forum and was invited to give keynote speeches.
