Peking University advances work on helping retired faculty members

Peking University, April 2, 2019: The meeting on the retirement work was held in Deng Youcai Lecture Hall of School of Life Sciences on the morning of March 28, which aimed to further study and implement the spirit of Chen Xi’s Speech at the National Conference of Senior Cadre Directors and to improve retirement work in a new era.
In the meeting, PKU Council Vice Chairman An Yufeng gave a systematic guidance report. More than 100 members of staff in charge of retirement affairs attended this meeting.
An Yufeng systematically interpreted Chen Xi’s speech in different aspects. He advocated that we should embrace modern technologies in an attempt to boost the efficiency when coping with trivial affairs that involved retirees. An also emphasized that efforts should be intensified to ensure the publication of memoirs that narrate the story of excellent PKU retirees since the founding of People’s Republic of China, and to improve the work on rewarding research achievement gained by the elderly faculty members.
