Professor Tu Pengfei wins the First National Scientific Innovation and Advancement Award

Peking University, June 8, 2017: On May 27, the National Science and Technology Workers’ Day and Scientific Innovation and Advancement Award Conference was held in Beijing. The first National Scientific Innovation and Advancement Award was given to groups and individuals.
Professor Tu Pengfei was given the certificate of Scientific Innovation and Advancement. Professor Tu is the academic leader of the national key discipline of pharmacognostics of Peking University, and awardee of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. He has persevered in scientific research in light of the needs of industrial development and our country. Professor Tu has made outstanding contributions to the safeguard of the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) resources and clinical medication, and the development of TCM industry.
The National Scientific Innovation and Advancement Award will be given once every three years. It is another important science and technology award after “National Natural Sciences Award”, “National Technological Invention Award”, and “National Science and Technology Progress Award.” It is a very important component of and supplement to the national science and technology award system, and links the awards and the important talents plans. The National Scientific Innovation and Advancement Award is a prominent talent award next to the Highest National Award of Science and Technology.
