Peking University, Beijing, Dec. 23rd, 2008: On Dec. 20th, 2008, the award presentation ceremony of “Top 100 Figures in Economics in the 30 Years of Reform in China” was held in the Great Hall of the People, Beijing, where Professor Wang Xuan, together with Mr. Rong Yiren and Huo Yingdong were awarded with the special prize of “Top 30 Figures in Economics in the 30 Years of Reform in China”.
Prof. Chen Kunqiu of PKU received the award on behalf of Prof. Wang. In her speech, she said that the success and promotion of laser photographing was the result of the reform and therefore we should continue the reform and innovation, turning more scientific achievements into productive force and improving the economic and technological level of our country. Mr. Wei Xin, chairman of the Board of Founder Group, was awarded with the title of “Top 10 Leaders in the Electronic Information Industry in 30 Years of Reform in China.” He said that the Founder Group would follow the advice of Prof. Wang, to face the financial and economic crises with continuous innovation.
The activity was organized by China Economic Weekly, co-organized by People’s Daily overseas edition and People’s Daily Online and released by over 40 first-class economic institutions and media. The award presentation ceremony was attended by over 100 noted entrepreneurs and over 200 industrial elite and was covered by more than 200 media presses home and abroad such as People’s Daily, Xinhua News Agency, CCTV and so on.
