Exploration of Longquan Kiln from Yuan and Ming Dynasties Exhibited in PKU

Peking University, Beijing, March 26th, 2009: The Exhibition of Longquan kiln Yuan and Ming Exploration Production, sponsored by the Institute of Archeology and Museology, Peking University, Zhejiang Institute of Cultural Relics and Archeology, the National Palace Museum, Beijing Capital Museum and Longquan City Museum, was held by the Chinese Public Archeology and Arts Center of PKU and PKU Sackler Museum in the PKU Sackler Museum on the morning of March 22nd, 2009.

 

PKU President Zhou Qifeng, PKU Vice President Zhang Guoyou, Director of Museum Department of State Bureau of Cultural Relics Song Xinchao, Vice President of Forbidden City Museum Duan yong, Deputy Director of the Capital Museum Yao An, Honorary Director of Zhejiang Institute of Archeology Cao Jinyan, Deputy Mayor of Longquan City Luo Shilan, Deputy Director of the Institute of Archeology of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Bai Yunxiang and about 100 other scholars and enthusiasts attended the opening ceremony. PKU Professor Su Bai inscribed for the exhibition.

 

The exhibition, which was held to display the latest findings about Longquan kiln, consisted of three parts: 120 precious cultural relics explored in the Longquan City, Zhejiang Province in 2006, intact artifacts of Longquan kiln collected by important museums in China and modern Longquan celadon utensil created by a group of arts and crafts masters in Long Quan City.
