Six PKU professors selected on the World’s Top 2% Scientists 2020 list

Peking University, April 13, 2020: The World’s Top 2% Scientists 2020 list was recently published by Stanford University. The list was jointly released by John P. A. Ioannidis and his team, together with Elsevier’s Mendeley Data. Based on the Scopus database, the top 2% of the world’s scientists were chosen from nearly seven million scientists. The selection looked at the scientists’ career-long and single year impact, which took into consideration the number of citations made, H-index, HM-index and other comprehensive indicators. The scientists were divided into 22 fields and 176 sub-fields.

The IDG McGovern Institute for Brain Research at Peking University saw three of its professors selected on the 2020 list of the top 2% scientists in the world. They are Professor Han Shihui and Professor Gao Jiahong on the “career-long impact” list, as well as Professor Han Shihui and Lu Lin on the “single year impact” list.

The Biomedical Pioneering Innovation Center at Peking University and Beijing Advanced Innovation Center of Genomics also saw three of its professors on the 2020 list of the top 2% scientists in the world. Professor Xiaoliang Sunney Xie and Professor Tang Fuchou were selected on the “career-long impact” list, while the “single year impact” list included Professor Xiaoliang Sunney Xie, Professor Tang Fuchou and Professor Zhang Zemin.
