Peking University, April 1, 2021: On March 23, the Signing Ceremony of "PKU Medicine-OPPO Intelligent Health Collaborative Innovation Laboratory" jointly set up by Peking University Health Science Center (PKUHSC) and OPPO Guangdong Mobile Communications Co., Ltd. (OPPO) was held.

Zhang Ning, vice president of PKUHSC and director of PKU Office of Scientific Research, said that the cooperation between PKUHSC and OPPO will provide new technologies, new methods and new tools for major diseases, enhance the “fundamental benchmark” of China's medical innovation ability through interdisciplinary cooperation, and make contributions to actively promoting the industrial application of scientific research achievements and formulating standards in related fields.

Liu Chang, vice president of OPPO, reiterated OPPO's concept of health and its technical support for a variety of challenges in the fields of clinical medicine, nursing, and health management. He said that in the following three years, OPPO will heavily invest in multi-disciplinary basic and applied research related to health and medicine in various fields including cardiovascular health, mental health management and healthy lifestyles. He hopes that both sides will give full play to their own great advantages, with OPPO in the research and development of electronic information technology and terminal equipment and with PKUHSC in medical science and practice, and actively promote the interdisciplinary innovative research and application.

Xiao Yuan, vice president of PKUHSC, and Zeng Zijing, vice president of OPPO, jointly signed the agreement of Intelligent Health Collaborative Innovation Laboratory co-built by PKUHSC and OPPO.

The leaders of PKUHSC and OPPO jointly awarded the appointment letters to the management committee members and members of the Intelligent Health Collaborative Innovation Laboratory.

Zeng, who is also the head of Health Laboratory, said in his speech that today is just the right time for OPPO to enter the field of medical science and technology, and the cooperation between OPPO and PKUHSC will certainly make contributions to the field of health care in China.

In the future, PKUHSC and OPPO will establish a long-term, stable and close cooperative relationship, focusing on the research fields of cardiovascular diseases, mental health, sports medicine, sleep, and healthy lifestyles, expand to other health and disease research fields, relying on the high-quality medical resources of Peking University, carry out multi-disciplinary basic and applied research related to health and medicine, and actively promote the industrial application of scientific research achievements and the formulation of national / industrial standards in related fields.
