Peking University, Beijing, December 31, 2008: PKU President Zhou Qifeng and Vice President Zhang Guoyou arrived at the homes of PKU’s senior liberal arts professors: Prof. Yuan Xingpei, Prof. Li Yining and Prof. Tang Yijie on New Year’s Eve to greet and send their best wishes on the holiday.

President Zhou caringly asked about each professor’s health conditions and wished them health and a happy new year.

During the visits, President Zhou shared with the senior professors the University’s recent reformation, development and construction, especially concerning humanities and social science of the University, and the professors shared their advice and opinions on those matters.

The professors showed their gratitude to members of the school board for finding time to come visit in their busy schedule, and wished the best towards making greater achievements for this world class University in the coming year.
