Peking University, January 28, 2021: More efforts should be called to help entrepreneurs in the education sector form new ideas and creativity to gear up new growth engines for the industry amid the COVID-19 pandemic, according to industry insiders.
"The education industry is moving forward thanks to outstanding entrepreneurs. More efforts are expected to work with entrepreneurs to find out new methods and models to jointly promote the development of education in China, and even the world," said Zhao Longkai, director of the MBA program at the Guanghua School of Management of Peking University.
An education entrepreneurship camp was held in Beijing in January to help founders better overcome challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.
He made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the 9th EdStars Entrepreneurship Camp, which was held by education giant TAL Education Group, Tencent Holdings and the Guanghua School this year to help entrepreneurs in the education sector to learn and improve.
"Faced with the COVID-19 pandemic, the opening of the camp has special significance, in that more efforts will be joined to help entrepreneurs in the education sector to overcome difficulties,"said Bai Yunfeng, TAL chairman, adding that the camp has helped over 300 entrepreneurs in the education sector so far.
The camp came at a time when the unexpected pandemic aggravated the uncertainty of the entrepreneurial environment, which not only brings new challenges and pressures to the education industry, but also breeds new opportunities and growth
This is the first time the Guanghua School participated in the camp, where it will leverage its top teachers and courses to help entrepreneurs.
According to the camp's organizing committee, a total of 32 entrepreneurs were involved, covering a slew of vertical industries, such as quality education, subject education, vocational education, higher education and MCN, as well as educational hardware.
Notably, entrepreneurs in fields like e-gaming and infant and mother also were invited to come up with new ideas for developing the industry.
