Professor Chen Peng awarded Chemical Society Reviews Emerging Investigator Lectureship 2014

Peking University, May 21, 2014: The editorial board of the world-famous journal Chemical Society Reviews recently awarded the Chem Soc Rev Emerging Investigator Lectureship 2014 to PKU Professor Chen Peng to appreciate his outstanding achievements in chemical biology.

Established in 2008, Chem Soc Rev Emerging Investigator Lectureship is awarded every year by the international editorial board of Chemical Society Reviews published by the Royal Society of Chemistry to an emerging scientist who has made remarkable achievements in independent study of chemistry or related fields. This year Professor Chen Peng was awarded for his innovative work in "developing and applying novel chemistry tools to investigate protein based interactions and activities in living cells, with a focus on host-pathogen interactions" and "addressing fundamental questions of infectious diseases." Professor Chen Peng will present his Emerging Investigator lecture and receive his award at an international academic event.

Professor Chen Peng is a PhD supervisor of College of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering of PKU and the Principle Investigator (PI) of the Center for Life Sciences of PKU-THU. In 2012, He was awarded the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholar and selected as the first group of young talents in the Outstanding Youth Talents Supporting Program by the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the CPC. In 2013, he won the 13th Science and Technology Award for Chinese Youth.
