Vice President of the University of Luxembourg visits PKU

Peking University, Oct. 20, 2014: On October 15th, Professor Franck Leprévost, vice president for foreign affair of the University of Luxembourg, accompanied by Loic Bertoli, deputy minister of the Luxembourg Embassy in China, paid a visit to PKU. PKU Vice President Li Yansong and School of Mathematical Sciences Deputy Dean Chen Dayue met with them in Linhuxuan. They had a discussion on the cooperation between the two universities.

Vice President Li Yansong outlines the student exchange program between PKU Law School and Law School of the University of Luxembourg which started in 2012, willing to further promote the communication and cooperation. He noted that PKU welcomed more foreign students and teachers to come, and tried to invite foreign scholars to PKU through international forums and conferences. He also introduced the current situation of PKU’s international communication, especially the international hospital and the big database project under preparation.

President Franck Leprévost responded with his hope for further collaboration, especially on mathematics and computer science. Moreover, he expressed his approval of the cooperation that PKU built with hospitals and conglomerates, suggesting that based on PKU’s multidisciplinary research development, it could be used to promote the research on Parkinson‘s disease.

 

After the meeting, PKU Vice President Li Yansong also invited the embassy to take part in the upcoming International Cultural Festival at PKU.

 

Background Info:
Built in Aug. 13th, 2003, the University of Luxembourg is the first and the only university in Luxembourg noted for its multilingual courses in German, English and French. It is a research university involving four school districts.
