Representative of Israeli Health Ministry visits the Health Information Research Center

Peking University, Dec. 9, 2017: On the afternoon of December 1, 2017, Hagai Dror, head of the Government to Government (G2G) Health Cooperation Directorate, Ministry of Health (Israel); Itzik Levy, head of the National ‘Digital Israel’ initiative of Digital Health and Information Technology Division, Ministry of Health (Israel); and Dr. Robert Moskovitch, head of the Complex Data Analytics Lab, Ben Gurion University of the Negev, were invited to visit the Health Information Research Center of Peking University. They held talks with staff and partners of the Center at room 201, Jingyuan Courtyard No.6.


The workshop

Zhang Luxia, executive deputy director of the Health Information Research Center of Peking University, presided over the workshop. Other attendees of the workshop included Zhan Siyan, deputy director of the Health Information Research Center of Peking University, and Li Zhihong, professor at the PKU School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science.


Robert Moskovitch

Itzik Levy and Robert Moskovitch introduced respectively the digital medical strategy and platform of Israel, and inter-organization big data point-in-time connections and analysis methods. They both proceeded to conduct in-depth and enthusiastic discussions with the participants.

Israel's health care system is remarkable among countries of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). With a well-established primary health care system, well-distributed public health resources, strong financial support, and high-quality medical care, Israel’s health system places among one of the most cost-effective in the world. This workshop further deepens the understanding between China and Israel in the research and application of big data in health care, and lays a solid foundation for close cooperation between Peking University and the Israeli government in the field of big data for health care.
