Peking University, Nov. 26, 2013 : Li Yansong, vice president of PKU, along with the PKU delegation, went to South Korea for the “China Seal-Li Lanqing Seal Cutting Calligraphy Art Exhibition”, from November 14-16. Peking University (PKU) undertook “Current and Future Situation of China-Korea Educational Communication” workshop, also known as, book presentation ceremony of Li Lanqing’s works.
“China Seal-Li Lanqing Seal cutting Calligraphy Art Exhibition” (South Korea Exhibition) series activities had been holding from November 15 to December 8 in Seoul Arts Center, as part of the project of developing traditional Chinese culture and promoting Chinese culture, education and enterprises “going abroad”. This exhibition aimed at improving Korean’s understanding of traditional Chinese culture through exhibiting Mr. Li Lanqing’s works of seal cutting, calligraphy and paintings. It would also promote mutual cultural, educational and economical communications by presenting the achievements China had made since the opening-up.
As an important part of the exhibition, “Current And Future Situation Of China-Korea Educational Communication” workshop (book presentation ceremony) of Li Lanqing’s works was held in Seoul Arts Center on November 15, hosted by The Chinese embassy in South Korea and South Korea exhibition organizing committee with the help of Chinese Education Department International Division, Peking University, SK Holdings, Seoul National University and South Korea doctorial students association of China. Officers from both Chinese and Korean Ministry of Education, The Chinese embassy in South Korea, leaders form SK Holdings and university officials from both countries attended the workshop as invited.
During the presentation ceremony, Chinese Ministry of Education, The Chinese embassy in Korea, officials from Chinese universities presented China Seal--A Collection Of Li Lanqing’s Works On Seal Cutting Calligraphy Art Exhibition (Korean version), Education For 1.3 Billion (English Version), Music, Art, Life (Chnese Version) and other works of Li Lanqing.
PKU vice president Li Yansong and Dr. Cheong Jong Hao from Seoul National University co-chaired the following education workshop. Scholars from both countries retrospected the achievements of mutual educational communications and discussed over deeper cooperation in education. Plenty agreements were reached and mutual understandings were promoted.
