Peking University, Jan 12, 2016: On January 5, Max Baucus, American Ambassador to China visits Yenching Academy as the third guest speaker of Peking University Yenching Academy Ambassador Speaker Series. The activity is hosted by John Holden, Associate Dean of Yenching Academy.
During the discussion, Baucus points out that both China and America are working towards a better future despite their cultural differences. Based on the same pursuit, more close cooperation between China and America is expected in economy, education and medicine. He also encourages Yenching scholars to expose themselves more on Chinese society and broaden their horizons, fighting for the benefits of the human race.
The Ambassador Speaker Series is of great significance for the extracurricular programs of Yenching Academy. Before Max Baucus, Stanley Loh, Singapore’s Ambassador to China and Ron Keller, Ambassador of the Netherlands to China are the two guests of the activity. Face to face discussions with ambassadors stimulate Yenching scholars’ interest to view challenges and opportunities China and the world have from a global point of view.
