Peking University, Oct.26, 2011: School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science, PKU signed agreement for research cooperation with Japan’s Kitakyushu, and Kitakyushu Foundation for the Advancement of Industry, Science and Technology (FAIS) on Oct.19. The signing ceremony was held in the conference hall of Kitakyushu Science and Research Park (KSRP) as a part of the 10th anniversary celebrations for KSRP.

In his speech, PKU Assistant President Zhu Xing, Deputy Director of National Center for Nanoscience and Technology, China(NCNST), thanked the government ot Kitakyushu and FAIS for their support for the cooperation between Peking University and Waseda University. He spoke highly of the mutual establishment of laboratories in these two universities.

Actually, this was not the first cooperation between PKU and Waseda University. Zha Hongbin, Deputy Dean of School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science, PKU had already collaborated in research with Seiichiro Kamata, professor of Information Production System Studies, Waseda University.

The signing of this agreement promotes the research collaboration between PKU and Waseda University. It also lays a sound basis for cooperation between PKU and other research institutions in KSRP.
