Peking University, Oct. 9, 2013: Professor Meng Zhiyong, Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences, School of Physics, Peking University (PKU), received the 2014 Editor’s Award of American Meteorological Society (AMS), for her excellent reviews of the AMS Monthly Weather Review.

The AMS’s words for awarding Professor Meng Zhiyong are “for providing a large number of timely and thorough reviews that have contributed to significant improvements of numerous manuscripts.” Professor Meng has worked as a vice-editor of the Journal, AMS Monthly Weather Review, since 2007.

The Editor’s Award is given to an individual who has contributed a referee’s report of outstanding merit on a manuscript submitted for publication in one of the Society’s journals. Nominations are considered by the Publications Commission, which makes recommendations for final approval by AMS Council.
