Supporting global exchange in dental health research
Peking University, Mar. 30, 2013: The 91th International Association of Dental Research (IADR) Annual Conference was held in Seattle, the US, with the attendance of dental researchers from all over the world. More than 30 representatives from Peking University School of Stomatology (PKU School of Stomatology) attended the conference and contributed 20 papers for academic communication.
During the conference, PKU School of Stomatology assisted the Chinese Stomatological Association to hold the China Night reception under the theme “Open, Inclusive, and Innovative”. The event facilitated exchange among the conference attendees and was therefore able to continue the success of the previous reception during the dental research annual conference held in Brazil in 2012. More than 300 experts were invited, including IADR Chairman Mary Macduogall, Executive Chairman Christofer Fox, IADR’s former chairmen, board members, chief editors of Journal of Dental Research (JDR), and deans and famous scholars from schools of Stomatology all over the world. Professor Xu Tao, dean of School of Stomatology, Peking University, and vice chairman of Chinese Stomatological Association presided over the reception.
At the conference, internationally recognized dental experts were invited to give academic lectures, and awards were given to the outstanding contributors in the field of dental research. Professor Wang Cunyu from School of Dentistry, University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), also an alumnus of PKU School of Stomatology, won the Basic Research in Biological Mineralization Award. Professor Shi Songtao from School of Dentistry, University of South California, Los Angeles (USCLA), won the Pulp Biology & Regeneration Award. Professor Li Yihong and her team from College of Dentistry, New York University won the award of IADR/AADR Journal of Dental Research “Cover of the Year, 2012.”
