Peking University, Dec. 28, 2012: PKU and China Development Bank Corporation (CDB) signed an agreement at CDB on December 24, with the aim of pushing forward financial cooperation between the two institutions.

 
At the signing ceremony, CDB Chairman of the Board Chen Yuan spoke highly of PKU’s profound foundation in culture  and its contributions to the cause of building a moderately prosperous society in China. He believed that the agreement would further the collaboration between PKU and CDB into a new phrase. “PKU, a major force of science and technology, has provided substantial support for the economic development of our country. CDB, as the primary bank providing financial support for science and technology, will assist PKU in both financial and intellectual assets.” Chen said.

PKU President Zhou Qifeng expressed gratitude for the lasting support from CDB before giving a general introduction of PKU, including construction of disciplines and cultivation of talents in recent years. He hoped to cement the enduring partnership with CDB that could promote social and economic development of China.

According to the agreement, CDB will support PKU in discipline construction, campus infrastructure upgrades, building teachers’ residential lot, implementation of major industrial projects, establishing sci-tech parks, promoting cultural innovation and providing student loans. In addition, PKU and CDB will strengthen the cooperation in educational training and leadership exchange .
