Peking University, Oct. 18, 2012: Peking University (PKU) rises to 46th in the latest World University Rankings, which were recently released by Times Higher Education.
The spot of PKU on the world's comprehensive ranking
With the overall score of 70.7, PKU moves up 3 from last year, maintaining the only position in the top 50 for Chinese Mainland. Tsinghua University (THU) ranks 52nd.
PKU is the 4th best university in Asia.
In the six top-50 rankings by subject, no universities in Chinese Mainland are on the lists, except for PKU in physical sciences and social sciences, as well as THU in engineering & technology.
PKU is tied with Durham for the 45th in the physical sciences ranking.
As for social sciences, PKU ranks 41.
