Peking University, Oct. 30, 2012: Professor Fan Dongsheng from Peking University (PKU) Third Hospital was elected society member of the World Stroke Organization (WSO) Board of Directions on the 8th World Stroke Conference the other day.

Background Info:

The WSO is the union of the International Stroke Society (ISS) and the World Stroke Federation (WSF), two globally-leading organizations concerning stroke. It aims to promote the prevention and treatment on stroke worldwide by strengthening public concerns, pushing relevant studies, and popularizing health knowledge. The World Stroke Conference is held by the WSO every two years.

Professor Fan, as one of the two speakers from China on the 8th World Stroke Conference this year, made a speech on behalf of PKU Third Hospital following the last conference. Fan expressed his profound recognition about the WSO’s mission, as well as his determination to develop both professional and public education in order that more people could acquire specialized knowledge and skills of stroke prevention.
