Beijing Forum 2012, marking its ninth anniversary, was successfully held from November 2nd-4th, 2012 in Beijing. The Forum was honored to have received a congratulatory video message from UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, and involved many other distinguished guests. Over 470 leading scholars and experts from more than 40 countries and regions engaged in the discussions on various topics concerning the general theme of "The Harmony of Civilizations and Prosperity for All – Challenges and Opportunities: New Thinking in New Reality”. The Forum has turned out to be academically fruitful and socially well-received.
As a world-class academic conference, Beijing Forum makes every effort to keep abreast of the important developments in international academia, while at the same time embracing vital humanitarian concerns around the world. Each year the Academic Committee of Beijing Forum reaffirms its commitment to the overarching theme of “The Harmony of Civilizations and Prosperity for All,” while simultaneously deciding upon a historically appropriate and currently relevant theme for its annual conference.
At this stage, the Academic Committee of Beijing Forum is welcoming distinguished scholars and experts from around the world to contribute their suggestions and proposals on the “ annual theme of Beijing Forum 2013 ” through the Online Proposing System based on their particular insights into the world’s ongoing and emerging important issues and topics concerning the world harmony and prosperity.
Next year will mark the tenth anniversary of Beijing Forum. In celebration of this, the Forum is also welcoming the global academics to contribute their valuable suggestions and ideas on how this special and significant year could be well celebrated.
