Pan Xiaochuan wins AusAid Scholarship Alumni Award

Peking University, Oct. 13, 2012: On September 15th, 2012, the 2012 ACAA (Australia China Alumni Association) Australia-China Alumni Awards unveiled in Shanghai. Ms. Frances Adamson, Australian ambassador to China, hosted the press conference. Professor Pan Xiaochuan from School of Public Health, PKU, was awarded AusAid (Australian Agency for International Development) Scholarship Alumni Award.

 

Australia China Alumni Awards was established by ACAA in 2009, targeting all the alumni graduating from Australian universities, It is one of the most important annual events of ACAA. The awards include nine categories, aiming at honoring the outstanding achievements of the alumni. Among the nine categories, AusAid Scholarship Alumni Award is for the alumni who have made great contribution to China’s development.

 

Professor Pan Xiaochuan has been focusing on the study of environmental epidemiology in recent years. He used to be a visiting professor of Queensland University of Technology, as well as Griffith University, and now serves as part-time professors of these two universities. Since 2000, he has hosted significant nationwide projects successively, as well as established extensive research cooperation with Germany, USA, Australia and Korea. So far, his team has published over 90 papers in international and Chinese journals.

 

Professor Pan has devoted himself to the study of environmental epidemiology for more than 20 years. In recent years, he promoted the international cooperation and communication in the field of environmental epidemiology at School of Public Health, PKU. He has made positive contributions to the field of environmental health not only in China, but also all over the world.
