PKU students speak highly of CPPCC government work report
Mar 15, 2012

Peking University, Mar. 13, 2012: The opening ceremony of the National People’s Congress Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) was held on Mar. 5. On behalf of the State Council, Premier Wen Jiabao delivered the Government Work Report. Students of Peking University (PKU) under the guidance of the Student Union watched the live broadcast on TV as well as on the Internet. After that, their opinions on the report were gathered.

It is shown that PKU students think highly of the Government Work Report. Yang Fahao, a sophomore student from Guanghua School of Management, paid special attention to Premier Wen Jiabao’s mention of an acceleration of the transformation of the mode of economic development, saying that it manifests the government’s resolution of transforming the mode of the economic development so as to raise the quality and efficiency of the economic development.

Tian Ziyao, a freshman from Department of Sociology, noticed Premier Wen’s clear response to the hot spot social issues such as real estate, price, and income security, from which she saw the Communist Party’s efforts to benefit the people by raising their living standards.

The mention of an improvement of education equality most impressed Lu Min, another freshman from School of International Studies. She realized that students from Peking University, having benefited from the best education resources in the nation, should pay more attention to the issue of education equality, especially to that in the rural area, and contribute to it in their own way.
