PKU leaders host informal discussion with party branch members from affiliated hospitals

Peking University, December 4, 2017: On November 30, 2017, PKU Council Chairman Hao Ping hosted an informal discussion with party branch members from affiliated hospitals at the Yingjie Overseas Exchange Center. The panel focused on implementing the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and the 13th CPC PKU Congress. The discussion highlighted promoting a “Healthy China” strategy, pursuing the development of Peking University Health Science Center and deepening reforms of the hospital management system. PKU President Lin Jianhua, as well as other members of the Organization Department, the General Office and the Office of Policy Research, participated in the discussion.

Hao Ping pointed out that affiliated hospitals play an important role in the PKU reform and development strategy as well as in the "Double World-classes" Construction of the university. Deepening the reform of hospital management system symbolizes the spirit of 19th CPC National Congress and 13th CPC PKU Congress. It also discussed the implementation of the “Healthy China” strategy and explored Chinese healthcare reform. Hao said The PKU Council would further strengthen the relationship between the university and its affiliated hospitals.

Lin Jianhua elaborated on the plan for interdisciplinary integration which focuses on “Clinical Medicine + X” as well as international and regional studies. He stated that the development of PUHSC and the affiliated hospitals promoted the overall structuring of disciplines within PKU. With new measures for talent introduction, interdisciplinary development, cross-departmental cooperation of PKU underway, the affiliated hospitals were expected to have more involvement and play a greater role.
