Peking University launches the Academic Alliance of Public-Private Partnership

 Peking University, Sept. 14, 2017: On the afternoon of September 9, with the participation of think tanks, universities, and related organizations, PKU convened a meeting that aimed to establish the “Academic Alliance of Public-Private Partnership (PPP)”. Wang Bo, vice president of PKU, and Jiao Xiaoping, director of the China Public Private Partnerships Center (CPPPC), attended the meeting and gave speeches. Sun Qixiang, dean of PKU School of Economics and director of PKU PPP Center, took the chair of the meeting.

Wang Bo extended warm welcome to all the participants. He pointed out that the establishment of PKU PPP Center reflected the great demand for PPP cooperation nowadays. It was of huge benefit to the big-discipline, multi-field, and trans-department cooperation under the constant transition of culture and science, and to the better service for the national strategy. The Academic Alliance of PPP would also connect different intelligence sources, attract the universities with high level of academic research, and finally took the lead of PPP’s core value and direction of innovation.

Jiao Xiaoping expressed his appreciation of PKU’s support and affirmed the great significance of Academic Alliance of PPP during such a crucial period for the development and reformation of PPP. He hoped that based on the Academic Alliance of PPP, PKU can set up a platform of PPP think tanks for universities at home and abroad, organize the global forum “50 People of PPP”, and export the concept and experience of Chinese PPP reformation.


Representatives from different organizations and universities delivered speeches centered upon PPP, showing their great support to the Academic Alliance of PPP and PPP think tanks.



The Academic Alliance of PPP will hold on to the principle of “equality, integration and sharing” and fulfill the requirements from both domestic and international respects, and from both academic and industrial fields. It aims to promote the development and success of PPP by leading the role in creating the platform, providing the theory, and promoting the practice.
