Peking University, May 26, 2017: On April 28, under the guidance of Department of Primary Health Care of the National Health and Family Planning Commission, a great conference on the establishment of Family Medicine Division of Wu Jieping Medical Foundation was co-sponsored by WU Jieping Medical Foundation and Peking University Health Science Center and held in the International Conference Center in Beijing.
Ke Yang
Executive vice president of Peking University, Prof. Ke Yang said at the opening ceremony that general medicine as an important profession in the medical care system had been attracting more and more attention, and the establishment of Family Medicine Division of WU Jieping Medical Foundation would help the government better construct the profession of general medicine, thus promoting and accelerating the development of our medical cause.
Letter of Appointment
Prof. Chi Chunhua, Dean of Department of General Medicine of PKUHSC and Director of Health Management Center of PKU First Hospital, became the first Director of Family Medicine Division of WU Jieping Medical Foundation.
Prof. Chi said in her inaugural speech that promoting the development of family medicine as well as improving the quality of primary health care is not only a major step of our national health system reform, but also a trend in the development of the global health industry. The Division of Family Medicine of WU Jieping Medical Foundation will work with whoever is committed to promoting the development of Chinese family medicine---experts, scholars and colleagues from all walks of life and all sectors of society both home and abroad, with the aim of being "academic, nonprofit and normative", actively carrying out extensive academic exchanges and creating special trainings, research projects and awards related to nonprofit family medicine so as to promote the development of family medicine with Chinese characteristics, enhance the ability and social status of family doctors and promote the implementation of Chinese diagnosis and classification system.
