Peking University, June 1, 2013: According to the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject, 3 specialities in the School of Foreign Languages have remained top 50 for the last three years.

In 2011, 2012 and 2013, Modern Languages (including French, German, Spanish, etc.) rank respectively 25^th, 6^th and 13^th; Linguistics, namely, on the study of language structures and why disparities exist between languages, with translation, interpretation, and language education included, ranks 14^th, 21^st and 20^th; and English Language and Literature 19^th, 39^th and 50^th.

As a discipline, foreign Languages and Literature at PKU have enjoyed good academic reputation both at home and abroad. In the 2012 overall evaluation of national first-level disciplines, PKU School of Foreign Languages tops the list for the third time after 2004 and 2008. The high academic competence it displays among world-class universities manifests its academic influence around the world.
