PKU Alumna Zhou Yuanyuan Becomes the First Female Winner of Mark Weiser Award

Peking University, Oct. 14, 2015: Zhou Yuanyuan, 1988 graduate of PKU’s School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science wins the 2015 Mark Weiser Award recently. She was awarded as the 15th winner of Mark Weiser Award and also the first female winner in the world for her innovative and creative contributions to detecting and recovering from defects in complex computer systems.
The award was organized by Association for Computing Machinary Special Interest Group on Operating Systems in the United States.

The Mark Weiser Award (http://www.sigops.org/award-weiser.html) was created in 2001, to be given to an individual who has demonstrated creativity and innovation in operating systems research. The recipient must have begun his or her career no earlier than 20 years prior to nomination.
