PKU People’s Hospital Heart Center certified as a paradigm
Peking University, May 8, 2013: Recently, PKU People's Hospital Heart Center was authorized by American Heart Association (AHA) to become one of its 90 professional demonstration centers in China, which are committed to promoting standardized medical training, advanced technical standards from abroad and standardized prevention and treatment methods in cardiovascular field.
A ceremony to unveil the demonstration center was held in 5A Ward of People's Hospital, a top hospital in China. Heart Center Director Chen Hong, deputy directors and other senior doctors cut the ribbon together. Afterwards, a professional training was hosted by Professor Guo Danjie, in which he elaborated on AHA’s projects of prevention and treatment for cardiovascular disease.
AHA is among the most authoritative professional organizations in cardiovascular field. AHA and the Chinese Medical Doctor Association jointly launched the "AHA (China) Professional Demonstration Center" project, which is the first cooperation project pioneered by the AHA to target China. Its purpose is to promote global sharing and progress of the study of atherosclerosis.
These professional demonstration centers will be able to benefit from the academic and educational resources of AHA and its advanced experiences to carry out trainings in professional demonstration, medical education and academic exchanges. A Sino-US cooperation and communication platform in the field of cardiovascular disease is expected to establish through multi-level academic exchanges and research sharing.
