Diversified PKU, long-sighted view: a glimpse of PKU 2012 Campus Open Day

Peking University, Apr.16, 2012: On the April 14th, 2012 PKU Campus Open Day and the undergraduates enrollment consultation meeting was held at the PKU Khoo Teck Puat Gymnasium. Students and their parents entered from 8 o'clock in the morning, expecting to know more about PKU. As the functional department responsible for the foreign exchange affairs, the Office of International Relations had participated in the Campus Open Day for the fourth time, making every effort to help students and their parents get to know the rich sources of foreign exchanges at PKU.

On that day, the Office of International Relations successfully showed the feature of an international campus, based on its exquisite exhibition board and varied publicity materials. Photos shown on the board included visits to PKU of international leaders and presidents from distinguished universities around the world and some large-scale activities such as Beijing Forum, Olympics Champions Forum etc, all of which fully reflected that PKU, with its international demeanor and charisma, was an all-embracing university.


Diversified overseas exchange study programs were the high point of the exhibition. It received great attention from the students and parents.  Up to now, PKU has signed the inter-university exchange agreement with more than 260 universities abroad. The number of regular exchange program has reached 68. Students of PKU can apply for Yale University, Tokyo University, Sciences Po, etc. to study abroad for from half a year to one year. Meanwhile, PKU has exchange programs with 26 renowned universities of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. Each year, nearly 100 PKU students have the opportunity to study in the three places for a semester. Students and their parents showed their keen interest in the exchange programs and staff of the Office of International Relations gave their answers very patiently.


As the bridge connecting PKU and the international world, the Office of International Relations had exhibited its unique quality to the public. It not only provided the first-hand information to the students and parents who took interest in foreign exchange programs, but also showed PKU's international outlook.
