SEP . 22 2017
Peking University, September 17, 2017: In respond to the “targeted poverty alleviation” policy, Yanyuan Sub-district Administration launched a donation program from August to September, 2017. All the money raised will reach partner assistance cities in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei regional cooperation program, including Yi County and Chicheng County in Hebei Province, as well as Aohanqi in Inner Mongolia, Hetian City in Xinjiang, and Danjiangkou City in Hubei.

The mobilization meeting was held on August 28 by Yanyuan Sub-district Administrative Office. From August 28 to September 11, each donation site attracted publicity through various means, including hanging banners, putting up notices, giving out leaflets, establishing wechat groups, and so forth.

These efforts have stimulated the public’s passion for the donation program. Residents flooded to the donation box in their communities, among whom there were children as well as 80-year-old retired teachers.

Donors of various ages

The donation strictly follows relevant rules and policies, and is based on principles of voluntariness and gratuitousness. The amount of the funds is published timely to ensure its openness and transparency. By September 11, Yanyuan Sub-district has raised 11690.6 yuan.

Under the support and cooperation of the officials and residents at Yanyuan Sub-district, the 2017 “Targeted Poverty Alleviation” Donation Program was completed successfully. The donation program expressed Yanyuan District’s concern for residents in poorer regions, and promoted the unity and harmony of the community.
