Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School welcomes 2016 new international students
Sep 01, 2016

Peking University, Sep. 1, 2016: On Monday, August 15, 2016, Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School celebrated another New International Student Arrival Day on campus. 90 students have joined us from 28 different countries world as either full-time students or exchange students at the PKU HSBC Business School. On Monday, we also welcomed two international students attending the School of Environment and Energy and the School of Urban Planning and Design, while on Sunday the School of Transnational Law welcomed 9 new international students. Despite the rainy weather, everyone arrived safely and in great spirits.

As students arrived, they were met with international staff, Campus Advisors, and 2nd year student volunteers to assist them with all the steps of the check-in process, anywhere from learning to pay utilities to taking a group trip to IKEA.

Tuesday had students complete their formal school registration, as well as receive additional welcome materials including their PKU shirts, Survival Chinese Guides, taxi direction cards, and other campus information.  The next day, students braved the rain for a University Town and neighboring village tour, followed by detailed presentations from international staffers on campus life and adapting to Chinese culture.

In the coming days, students will be going for group trips downtown, as well as completing their health checks as they begin the application process for Chinese residence permits.

A warm welcome to our new group of internationals!
