[Anniversary 2016] Alumni Calligraphy Invitational Exhibition

Peking University, May 7, 2016: From April 29 to May 4, PKU Alumni Painting Association held “Preserve and Inherit Tradition - 2016 Alumni Calligraphy Invitational Exhibition”. The exhibition invited 11 PKU alumni to display their works.

On April 29, alumnus of PKU’s Library Department, Professor Hua Rende of Suzhou University delivered a speech On the Calligraphy Study Club and Calligraphy Club of Peking University,in which he looked back at the inheritance of PKU’s calligraphy tradition. PKU Executive Vice President Wu Zhipan said that although many of the alumni who attended the exhibition have reached their 50s or even 60s, their love for Peking University and calligraphy remains unchanged. The exhibition is held not only to celebrate the 118th anniversary of Peking University, but to commemorate the old days and to express appreciation for the alumni.

This exhibition is one of the activities held on the 118th anniversary of PKU when alumni went back to their alma mater for a visit. Apart from this exhibition, Peking University also opened its History Museum, Arthur M. Sackler Museum of Art and Archaeology and Geological Digital Museum for the alumni.
