Dec 11, 2012

Peking University, Nov. 26, 2012: The welcome ceremony for National Taiwan University (NTU) Elite Program Delegation was held in Leo KoGuan Building on November 20. NTU representative Huang Qiongdi, Peking University (PKU) School of Government Deputy Dean, Associate Professor Bai Zhili and other faculty were present at the ceremony as well as all the members of the delegation and PKU School of Government students.

Professor Bai extended his sincere welcome to the NTU delegates and hoped that NTU students would take courses offered by faculty from School of Government, which would help to better their understanding of political systems in Mainland China. Moreover, he asked NTU students to speculate on the relationship between Taiwan and Mainland China. Finally, Professor Bai wished all of the members on the delegation to have a good time in PKU in the following two weeks.

Ms. Huang expressed her thanks to PKU for its support to the Elite Program in NTU and looked back on the friendship built between the two universities long ago. To many members of the delegation, it is their first trip to Mainland China. She expected them to seize this opportunity to know more about politics and culture of the mainland. At last, Ms. Huang again thanked PKU and looked forward to more cooperation. The two sides exchanged gifts afterwards.

Then, School of Government Student Union President Wu Wangke briefly introduced to NTU students the history, campus culture, course systems, etc., and invited all the students present to introduce themselves. Pictures were taken at the end of the ceremony.

In the following two weeks, students from PKU and NTU will study and live together for further communication.
