    High spectral efficiency and low cost optical fiber transmission, optical free-space communication, radio-over-fiber (ROF) transmission. Impairments and cancellation in high speed optical communication system. Advanced modulation formats and electrical equalization for optical communication system.

    Novel passive and active optical devices, including broadband amplifier, photonic crystal   

    devices, all-optical logic devices, all-optical signal processing, wavelength conversion,
