President of Bloomberg, Inc. visits PKU

Peking University, April2, 2014: On March 21, Peter Grauer, president of Bloomberg, Inc, visited PKU and gave a speech entitled “How to become a leading figure” in Guanghuang School of Management.

Li Yansong, vice president of PKU, made a welcome speech, introducing PKU to Mr. Grauer, who is impressed by PKU’s close cooperation with foreign universities and institutions. In his speech delivered in Guanghua School of Management, Mr. Grauer said that being a leading figure requires three essential qualities: intimacy, modesty and self-contemplation. He further elaborated that his success could attribute to several conversations and the growing intimacy between Michael Bloomberg and him, which took place in their waiting for the end of their daughters’ horseback riding courses. While intimacy oftentimes functions unexpectedly, modesty and self-contemplation will help people move forward. He remarked that it is admirable that the staffs in his company never boast about their own excellence, but constantly keep making progress.

After an interaction with students and answering several of their questions, President Grauer then introduced the present development of Bloomberg. Having entered Chinese market for 19th year, Bloomber will provide Chinese customers with more international financial information as well as more local services by the end of 2014.
