The agreement signing ceremony for Beijing Forum 2013 held

Peking University, Sep. 13, 2013: The Agreement for Beijing Forum 2013 was signed by Wang Enge, President of Peking University, and Mr. Park In-kook, President of Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies (KFAS) at Yingjie Overseas Exchange Center on September 4.

 

According to the agreement, the tenth Beijing Forum, themed as The Harmony of Civilizations and Prosperity for All — Retrospect and Prospect , will be held from November 1 to November 3 this year.

 

 

“Over the past decade, Beijing Forum has been presenting world-class academic exchanges,” President Wang Enge, in the welcome speech, expressed his sincere appreciation for the support of KFAS from the starting point of Beijing Forum. He said. “The 10th anniversary of the forum is a landmark during its development. PKU will do her utmost to make this year’s forum another success.”

 

Mr. Park In-kook affirmed the outstanding work of Beijing Forum Secretariat. When talking about the theme of 2013, he believed it not only reflected the transitional characteristics of the current international situation, but also fit with the significance of Beijing Forum’s 10th anniversary.

 

During the ceremony, Secretary-General Yan Jun briefed about the preparations of the forum, including the attendees, panels and a series of commemorative activities in addition to the traditional academic activities.

Beijing Forum is an international forum co-sponsored by Peking University, Beijing Municipal Commission of Education, and Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies.

It was initiated in 2004, is held annually. So far it has witnessed the involvement of a total of over 3700 participants including well-known politicians and noted scholars from more than 70 countries and regions around the world.
