·         The Peking University Guanghua School of Management’s International MBA is a 2-year, full-time MBA program taught in English designed for high potential professionals who aspire to become international business leaders.

·         The program provides a holistic general management education with an emphasis on the reality of doing business in China. A rigorous curriculum covering core business practices ensures students enhance their abilities as leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs; whilst specialist subjects taught by China’s leading academics provide in-depth understanding of China’s history, culture and exceptional economy.

·         As graduates of China’s oldest and most prestigious university, students benefit from an outstanding alumni network that transcends all areas of Chinese business and political life. As China continues to develop and play an ever greater role in the global economy, the International MBA provides graduates unique opportunities to advance their careers in China and the wider global economy.


the program

·         In the first year of the International MBA, core courses provide a well-balanced general management education in Managerial Economics, Marketing Management, Corporate Finance, Strategic Management, Organizational Behavior and Operations Management.

·         In the second year, students are able to tailor their MBA to their specific interests by selecting from over 30 different elective courses, in areas such as strategy management, accounting, finance, entrepreneurship, marketing, human resource management and information management. The second year is structured to allow students to undertake internships or other professional projects along with academic study.

·         The MBA is underpinned by the integration of Humanities and Business Management teaching. Guanghua School of Management is the foremost institution in China for the provision of Chinese culture education. China specific courses include Chinese Cultural Traditions, Business and Management, Policy and Regulations, Business Networking and Eastern Philosophy. International students will also be provided with high-quality business Chinese language training, with the opportunity to undertake the HSK qualifications. .

2.         Admission Requirements

a.       Applicants must hold non-Chinese citizenship.

b.       Applicants must hold bachelor degree and have relevant work experience.

c.       Competitive GMAT Score.

Old HSK Test: Level 6-7 or above, Mid-level C-B, within 2 years of application deadline

New HSK Test: Level 5 or above, Mid-level, within 2 years of application deadline


   IMBA (International MBA): Applicants with competitive GMAT score can apply for IMBA.

   FMBA (Full-time MBA): Applicants with competitive GMAT and Regular Chinese Test (HSK) score can apply for FMBA.

   PMBA (Part-time MBA): Applicants with competitive GMAT, Regular Chinese Test (HSK) score can apply for PMBA.

   Double MBA Degree Programs: All enrolled MBA students can apply for Double MBA Degree Programs AFTER the new semester starts (for detailed information see websites).


3) Resume/CV (Include three topics, within 2 pages)

4) Official or notarized true copy of university degree and official transcript

5) Essay (within 2 pages)

a. Why are you choosing the Guanghua MBA program at PKU?

b. How do you envision your career progressing after receiving the MBA education?

c. How do you perceive the importance of corporate social responsibility?


6) Two recommendation letters (sealed, with referees’ contact information)

7) Photocopy of valid passport

8) Two of your recent photos (2 inches, with no hat worn, in hard copy)

9) Digital photo (passport size with 480*640 pixels, send via email: MBAintl@gsm.pku.edu.cn)

10) Non-refundable application fee of RMB ¥800 (payable online, by cash or wire transfer)


Items 1) - 7) can ONLY be submitted in Chinese or English, and the application documents cannot be returned.

Interview: Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview organized by the Guanghua School of Management in December, March or April. Competitive applicants will receive an offer of admission by email within 2 weeks after the interview, as well as a hardcopy admission letter to follow by mail in late June each year.


5.         Official Offer Letter, Visa, Medical Examination Form, etc.

The International Students Division of Peking University will send the admitted foreign students an official Offer Letter, Visa Application Form (JW202), and Medical Examination Forms by the end of June.


6.         Tuition Fee (paid half each year, covers the whole program)

Year 2012: RMB 188,000 (approximately US$29,300)
